Jim McIntyre Memorial Masters Lacrosse Tournament

This coming weekend masters lacrosse from across the province will descend upon Fergus, Ontario internationally known for two things: the Fergus Scottish Festival, the largest Scottish games outside the country of Scotland, and the Jim McIntyre Memorial Masters Lacrosse Tournament hosted by the Senior Rams lacrosse team.

The Rams have secured an amazing showcase raffle prize this year. Up for raffle are 8 corporate seats in suite 322 for the Blue Jays baseball game on June 16th. Sponsored by ESL Utility & Municipality Products, this suite includes wider padded seats, an excellent view of the whole field along the first baseline, in-seat service, food and beverage included, and a private washroom – a $2,500 value!

In addition to this showcase raffle prize, the Senior Rams also have a raffle table, 50/50 tickets, and beer gardens for your post-game refreshment needs.

One man always interested in ensuring post-game refreshment needs were met was the tournament’s namesake, Jim McIntyre. Jim reached out to Reg several years ago after a long heralded lacrosse career looking to be part of a team again.

Jim McIntyre started his career in the 1930s before World War 2, he played Junior A, and Senior A against some of the greatest players to play the game, he was a Minto Cup champion. But, most importantly, a friend to everyone he met and an amazing teammate. Jim always wrote down everybodys names at the mid-week pickup runs in Erin on his little notepad, or Jim's iPad as he called it.

Always in a good mood at the rink, he frequently reminded everyone what we play masters lacrosse for. We get away with friends for the weekend. We get to play as kids on the floor. We get to drink some beer. And, we get to have a lot of laughs.

This weekend, let’s play for Jim, forever a lacrosse player.
