2024 Season Comes to an End - Commissioner's Message

Two weeks ago, the 2024 Masters lacrosse season came to a close. What a great weekend of Masters Lacrosse! Upsets, close games, drama. It had it all. Some players from the past dropped by for a quick visit. Due to some patterning of the regular season, a tie was had in a senior game Friday night, there can be no ties at provincials. Resolution was required, and after meeting with the team captains, a 5-minute sudden-death period at 10 am on Sunday was the solution.

Ontario Masters Provincials

After 4 tournament weekends, 1948 goals scored, 348 games played, all 20 Masters Lacrosse teams will meet in Oakville Ontario to battle it out this weekend for championship glory. Will the reigning Weekend Warriors and Six Nations retain their titles, or will the season standings remain with Bramalea and Owen Sound keeping their top spots? Make sure you are there to check out the edge-of-your-seat action!.

Summer is starting to wind down, but masters lacrosse is still going strong in Ontario. The fourth and final seating tournament of the 2024 season will be hosted this weekend in the Flower City.

Player

Growing up in Six Nations Marty moved into the Junior A program in 2009 as a transition player. Drafted to the NLL in 2015 he signed with Rochester and Buffalo. Marty spent the summer playing with the Six Nations Chiefs in Major Series Lacrosse, and well as playing winter ball in the ALL with the Six Nations Snipers.

Tony Henderson

Player

Standing at 6'4" he is a monster of a man, with lacrosse in his blood. Tony played his junior career with the Spartans before being drafted to the Syracuse Smash in 1998. He was later released in '98, but resigned to continue his pro career in 2002 for another 5 years.

Mike McMillan

Mike McMillan

Player

Started playing Junior C in 1974 for Mississauga during their golden era. He was able to move onto playing Junior B and then Junior A! During his final year of Junior, Mike was able to accumulate 79 goals and 53 assists in 29 regular season games. After junior McMillan moved to BC to play in the Western Lacrosse Association Senior A loop, afterwhich he returned to Ontario to finish out the remaining 11 years of his senior career with Owen Sound splitting time between the Major Series and Senior B.
